LEONID ZATS
June 25, 1925
Born on June 25, 1925 in Odessa, Ukraine.
Served in the army from 1943 until 1976.
Zats fought in the 310th guard regiment in the 110th guard rifle division on the 2nd Ukrainian Front. He participated in the liberation of the territories of Ukraine (participant of the boosting of Dnepr), Moldavia, Romania, Hungary, and Checkoslovakia. He took part in combat in the war against Japan (passage through the Big Hungarian crossing).
He was awarded orders of the first and second degree of the Patriotic War, the “Red Star”, and medals “For Distinguished Achievement in Combat”, “For Victory over Germany”, “For Victory over Japan”, “For the taking of Budapest”, and “For the Liberation of Prague” and "For Honorable service in the Armed Forces of USSR of the first and second degrees. he also received medals from Mongolia and Czechoslovakia.

Воевал в составе 310-го гвардейского полка 110-й гвардейской стрелковой дивизии 53-й армии 2-го Украинского фронта. Участвовал в освобождении территории Украины (участник форсирования р. Днепр), Молдавии, в боях в Румынии, Венгрии, Чехословакии. Принимал участие в боевых действиях в войне против Японии (переход через Большой Хинганский перевал).
Награжден орденами Отечественной войны I и II степеней, «Красная Звезда»; медалями «За боевые заслуги», «За победу над Германией», «За победу над Японией», «За взятие Будапешта», «За освобождение Праги», «За безупречную службу в Вооруженных силах СССР» I и II степеней; медалями Монголии и Чехословакии.
