ANDREI KUKUNIA
November 30, 1918
Born on November 30, 1918 in the village of Novo-Shulba of the Semipalatinsk Region, Kazakhstan.
Served in the army from September 1937 until November 29, 1954.
Kukunia fought in the 656th rifle regiment of the 116th rifle division in the 9th Army on the territory of Ukraine (in the Belotserkov direction), where he was wounded in August of 1941. After recovering, he fought in the 82nd special Marine brigade (the defense of Moscow – northern fleet) and then in the 125th Marine regiment and the 367th special battalion of the northern fleet (the Rybachiy peninsula on the island Of kil’din).
He was awarded orders of the first and second degrees of the Patriotic War and medals “For Distinguished Achievements in Combat” and “For Victory over Germany”.

Воевал в 656-м стрелковом полку 116-й стрелковой дивизии 9-й армии на территории Украины (Белоцерковское направление), где был ранен в августе 1941 г. После излечения сражался в 82-й отдельной Морской бригаде (оборона Москвы – Северный флот), далее в составе 125-го полка морской пехоты и 367-го отдельного батальона Северного флота (полуостров Рыбачий и остров Кильдин).
Награжден орденами Отечественной войны I и II степени; медалями «За боевые заслуги», «За оборону Советского Заполярья», «За победу над Германией».
