ARON MEZHEBOVSKY
February 15, 1924
Born on February 15, 1924 in the city of Koshevataya of the Tarashchansk District in the Kiev Region, Ukraine.
Served in the army from 1942 until 1947.
Mezhebovsky fought in the 122nd special VNOS company (air surveillance, warning, and communication) in the 2nd guard army on the Stalingrad Front (defense against and the destruction of German troops near Stalingrad). He took part in battles for the liberation of Rostov, Voroshilovgrad Region, and Crimea (4th Ukrainian Front). He then participated in battles on the 1st Baltic Front and took part in the liberation of Latvia (Riga) and battles in East Prussia (taking of Koenigsberg) on the 2nd and 3rd Byelorussian Fronts. He was in the war against Japan on the 2nd Far-Eastern Front.
He was awarded an order of the first degree of the Patriotic War and medals “For Distinguished Achievements in Combat”, “For the defense of Stalingrad”, “For Victory over Germany”, “For the taking of Koenigsberg” and “For Victory over Japan”.

Воевал в 122-й отдельной роте ВНОС (воздушного наблюдения, оповещения, связи) 2-й гвардейской армии на Сталинградском фронте (оборона и разгром немецких войск под Сталинградом); участник боев за освобождение Ростова, Ворошиловградской области, Крыма (4-й Украинский фронт). Затем сражался на 1-м Прибалтийском фронте, участник освобождения Латвии (Рига), боев в Восточной Пруссии (взятие Кенигсберга) на 2-м и 3-м Белорусских фронтах. На 2-м Дальневосточном фронте участвовал в войне с Японией.
Награжден орденом Отечественной войны I степени; медалями «За боевые заслуги», «За оборону Сталинграда», «За победу над Германией», «За взятие Кенигсберга», «За победу над Японией».
