BORIS DREL

June 5, 1914
Born June 5, 1914 in the city of Polonnoye in the Khmelnitsky Region, Ukraine. Served in the army from 1938 until 1944. In the beginning of the war, Drel fought in the 53rd special airport maintenance company (in the city of Peremishl, western Ukraine), which moved back east with the combat. From January 1942 until December 1943, after being surrounded and wounded (in the city of Mirgorod of the Poltava Region, Ukraine), he was on temporarily occupied territory. From December 1943 until February 1944, Drel fought in the 887th rifle regiment of the 211th rifle division. He was wounded a second time near Kamenets-Podolskiy. He was awarded an order of the first degree of the Patriotic War, the “Red Star” , and a medal “For Victory over Germany”.

Родился 5 июня 1914 г. в г. Полонное Хмельницкой обл., Украина. В армии с 1938 по 1944 г.г. В начале войны воевал в составе 53-й отдельной аэродромной технической роты (г. Перемышль, Западная Украина), отступавшей с боями на восток. С января 1942 г. по декабрь 1943 г., после окружения и ранения (г. Миргород Полтавской обл., Украина), находился на временно оккупированной территории. С декабря 1943 г. по февраль 1944 г. воевал в составе 887-го стрелкового полка 211-й стрелковой дивизии. Вторично был ранен в бою под г. Каменец-Подольский. Награжден орденами Отечественной войны I степени, «Красная Звезда»; медалью «За победу над Германией».
