BORIS GELFER

Born on August 8, 1924 in Zhlobin, Byelorussia.
Served in the army from August 16, 1942 until December 1, 1945.
Gelfer fought in the 62nd artillery regiment of the 29th guard division and the 9th special tank destroyer battalion of the 259th rifle regiment in the 65th Riga guard division of the 10th Army. He was heavily injured on May 7, 1945.
He was awarded an order of the first degree of the Patriotic War, the “Red Star” and a medal “For Victory over Germany”.

Награжден орденами Отечественной войны I степени, «Красная Звезда»; медалью «За победу над Германией».
