DAVID BURTIN
April 2, 1918
Born on April 2, 1918 in Leningrad, Russia.
Served in the army from 1942 until 1945.
Burtin fought in the stand-alone backpacking explosives company of the 11th Guard Àrmy on the Western Front. He was wounded during combat in the Kursk salient. While in the 75th guard rifle regiment of the 26th guard rifle division of the 11th Guard Àrmy, he took part in combat on the territory of Smolensk, Byelorussia (Vitebsk, Borisov), Lithuania, and East Prussia (the taking of Koenigsberg).
He was awarded an order of the first degree of the Patriotic War, the “Red Star”, and medals “For Victory over Germany” and “For the taking of Koenigsberg”.

Воевал в составе отдельной роты ранцевых огнеметов 11-й гвардейской армии и в 15-го гвардейского стрелкового полка 26-й гвардейской стрелковой дивизии 11-й гвардейской армии. Принимал участие в боях на территории Белоруссии (гг.Витебск, Борисов), Литвы, Восточной Пруссии (взятие Кенигсберга).
Награжден орденами Отечественной Войны I степени, «Красная Звезда»; медалями «За победу над Германией», «За взятие Кенигсберга».
