GRIGORY KORIN

May 10, 1923
Born on May 10, 1923 in Leningrad, Russia. Served in the army from June 1941 until July 1971. Korin fought in the 382nd howitzer artillery regiment in the High Command Reserve on the 1st and 3rd shock armies and the 10th guard armies of the Northwestern Front. He took part in battles at the joining point between the Leningrad and Volkhov Fronts. Korin then fought on the Kalinin Front (battles for Velikiye Luki, Kholm, and other populated areas) in the 1399th tank destroyer artillery regiment on the 2nd Baltic Front (battles for the liberation of Latvia – Tukumsk, Rezekne, and for the destruction of enemy groups). He was awarded an order of the first degree of the Patriotic War, two orders of the “Red Star”, and medals “For Distinguished Achievement in Combat”, “For the defense of Leningrad”, and “For Victory over Germany”.

Родился 10 мая 1923 г. в г. Ленинград, Россия. В армии с июня 1941 г. по июль 1971 г. Воевал в составе 382-го гаубично-артиллерийского и 274-го гвардейского минометного полков Резерва Главного Командования, 1-й и 3-й ударных армий, 10-й гвардейской армии Северо-Западного фронта. Участник боев на стыке Ленинградского и Волховского фронтов. Затем сражался на Калининском фронте (бои за Великие Луки, Холм и др. населенные пункты), в составе 1399-го истребительно-противотанкового артполка 2-го Прибалтийского фронта (бои за освобождение Латвии - Тукумс, Резекне и по ликвидации Курляндской группировки противника). Награжден орденом Отечественной войны I степени, двумя орденами « Красная Звезда»; медалями «За боевые заслуги», «За оборону Ленинграда», «За победу над Германией».
